Christmas is right around the corner and here's a few reminders!

Make a crafty Christmas gift using pinecones.  You can tear apart the pinecones, use more than one pinecone, or part of the pinecone . . . just be creative!

  • MAKE A MARSHMALLOW SHOOTER
For those participating, create your marshmallow shooter, otherwise you’ll need to find your old marshmallow shooters from the previous Christmas.  Prizes awarded for the gun shooting the farthest, and accuracy in hitting a target.
RULES: 
no store bought marshmallow shooters
shooters must be made to shoot miniature marshmallows
shooters made from PVC tubes

IT'S HAPPENING IN NOVEMBER!

TIME and PLACE for Thanksgiving:
Thanksgiving dinner at the Doi’s – please come around 4pm, dinner will be served at 5pm.  You are welcome to come earlier too!  Check out the menu (below) and if you would like add to the menu, then please contact Auntie Pat.

CHRISTMAS CRAFT GIFT EXCHANGE:
Cousins and guests of cousins (optional for guests) will have an opportunity to complete a list of their favorites things for the CRAFT exchange.  The craft item and details will be announced on Thanksgiving Day.  If you are unable to gather with us on Thanksgiving Day and would like to participate in the CRAFT exchange, then please let your parent know so we can include you (guest) too! We will exchange names once everyone arrives that can be there on Thanksgiving Day.

CHRISTMAS GIFT EXCHANGE BETWEEN COUSINS:
Cousins and guests of cousins (optional for guests) will be exchanging names on Thanksgiving Day.  Details of gift limit will be explained, you can fill out a Wish List and again if you are unable to attend Thanksgiving Day but don’t want to miss out on the Christmas gift exchange, then please tell your parent to include you in the exchange!

COOK OFF – IRON CHEF CHALLENGE ON CHRISTMAS DAY:
Since the family holds such wonderful chefs, we are challenging you to a cook off on Christmas day.  Rules will be explained on Thanksgiving Day and posted on the blog.  Monetary prizes will be awarded!  You can enter as an individual or couple, open to cousins and guests only . . . no aunties or uncles!  Selecting your challenge will be one random drawing consisting the categories of appetizers, side dish, or dessert.  Cook off challenger(s) must be present to participate.  Judges to award prizes.

WHITE ELEPHANT GIFT EXCHANGE WITH EVERYONE:
Details of the White Elephant gift exchange will basically be the same as last year and we’ll discuss it a little more.
If you bring a white elephant gift, then you are eligible to receive a white elephant gift! Also, if a child participates, then please bring a suitable gift for a child. 
This white elephant notice will go out to the Hikida family and Flavio (and his younger brother too) if they decide to come.
